As part of Premier’s goal of striving to be ‘the best John Deere Dealer’ in Canada, Premier has partnered with Veldale Farms on an 800 acre ‘DEMO FARM’ near Woodstock, Ontario. The purpose of the farm is to have access to land to test new equipment, collect and manage input and yield data. Also the farm provides means to give staff members firsthand training and experience on new technologies being brought to market by John Deere.
Premier has worked with Veldale for several seasons, growing and harvesting winter wheat, soybeans, corn, and corn silage – using the most current equipment and precision technology available.
Premier has had a long-standing relationship with John Deere as a partner to help test new equipment and new technologies in Ontario. Often Premier has the opportunity to trial pre-production units, or ‘limited production build’ units prior to their commercial release to the Canadian marketplace.
For the 2024 growing season, Premier had the opportunity to work on two specific units – a 1795 planter, featuring Frame Weight Distribution and Central Tire Inflation – as well as one of the very first See and Spray™ equipped Spayers in Canada. The plater was part of John Deere’s L.E.A.D. program (Local Economic & Agronomic Decisions) by which dealers are encouraged to conduct local trials to create data relevant to their own marketplace.
